The Lesser Evil

What qualities are there with Nonoy that would make him a worthy President? Is it the fact that he is the son of a former President and a Great Filipino Hero? Is he the one contemplated to save us from graft and corruption? Is he the one to bring to the poor bountiful blessings? Is being a son of a King makes every Prince worthy to the Crown?
Such questions make me wonder how worthy is he to become the next President of our country. Our country wherein we, the people who comprise it, have been in the dilemma on what we want and who we want. After the Marcos regime, it seems that we always recourse to the "People Power" initiative. This initiative has been so powerful that we even tried it thrice. Successful on two occasions, it has ousted two of the Presidents. But the question is, after the initiative, was there improvement because we got what we want? Were we ever satisfied? A majority would always say no. It satisfied those who at that time were not in power. This became a cycle wherein most of us will say that we can predict already what the next President, whoever that be, will be doing.
Now comes Noynoy. A presidentiable worth the seat because of his lineage, as so they claim. Is that how it goes? Well, maybe Kris should be vice-president because she also has the blood of a former president and a great Hero. Wouldn't that be better? And we should take pride on it because we have a country run by the children of a former president and a great Hero. Economy will shoot up and the poor will be saved from all their misery and the rich will share what they have to everybody. (Sigh), it felt good while writing the sentence but it had to end in a period.
I can't blame anybody for having this dream. I do share this dream. But we got used to choosing not from the Best or the Worst, but from who among the choices will give us the "Lesser Evil".
Anyway, we can always oust them by doing People Power.
